The Stars and Golden Knights resume their budding rivalry in Sin City after squaring off in Dallas last Friday when the Stars won 4-3. Both teams are coming off victories. Vegas dismantled the defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers 4-1 on home ice, while Dallas beat the Blues 2-0 in St. Louis.
I’m honestly shocked at the value for the Golden Knights on the moneyline. They have already defeated the Stars at home this season, and last season, VGK swept the regular-season series before losing to Dallas 4-3 in a first-round playoff series.
There’s recency bias built into this number after Friday’s game, but what the box score doesn’t show was how Vegas dominated the final frame. If it weren’t for a Herculean effort by Stars goalie Jake Oettinger and a timely stick check from Colin Blackwell, that contest would have ended differently.
With the Golden Knights out for revenge, I don’t see Dallas holding up well in this road environment. You can even go with +130 on the three-way regulation line if you want, but I’ll keep it simple.
