Here are the best bets for Thursday’s. NHL playoff games.

SGP: Hurricanes ML vs. Rangers, UNDER 6.5 goals (+140, BetMGM)

Lou Saccomando — Carolina has the Rangers on the ropes. Even though New York took a 3-0 series lead, two of those games could have gone the Hurricanes’ way. Special teams have been key in the series, and in Game 4, Carolina finally netted a PPG. I expect a tight checking game with little space in the neutral zone. This series was destined for seven games, and that is exactly what will happen.

Oilers 3-way ML at Canucks (+105, BetMGM)

Brandon Velaski — Let’s be honest. We’re bad at this. Maybe even worse in the playoffs than in the regular season. All trends point to a Canucks win in Game 5 since it’s been back and forth all series, but I’m going to zig instead of zag and take the Oilers. They are favored on the ML at -150, so let’s get the value of a regulation win here. I think McJesus and company smell blood in the water.

NHL postseason record: 5-15, -11.85 units
