The pick — Pacers-Knicks OVER 216.5 total points (-110, BetMGM)
DraftKings offers:
Everyone has that one movie they dislike and can’t understand its popularity. For me, it’s “Avatar.” Those little blue people make no sense to me, and I don’t get why people enjoyed that film.
The total for Game 5 of Pacers-Knicks is like “Avatar” — I don’t get it.
Why is it so low? In a series in which both teams are capable of scoring 110-plus, a total closer to 219 or 220 points would make more sense. Yet, the market seems to think Tuesday’s matchup at Madison Square Garden will be a lower-scoring affair.
Good thing the market isn’t always right.
Indiana has yet to score under 111 points in the series, holding the highest offensive rating of all conference semifinalists at 124.0. New York is also coming off a game in which it hit only seven threes and shot 18.9% from downtown. The Knicks aren’t going to do that again.
The New York offense will likely see some positive regression, and the high-powered Pacers will continue to put up points. That’s why I don’t understand the lower total in this game. So we’re taking the over.
And despite “Avatar” being a bad movie, Sigourney Weaver is still a legend.
