Here are the best bets for Tuesday’s NHL playoff games.

SGP: Rangers ML vs. Hurricanes, UNDER 6.5 total goals (+200, BetMGM)

BetMGM offer:

Lou Saccomando — New York has won five straight games to open the playoffs, and the under has hit in three of the contests. For Tuesday’s Game 2, both teams will revert to what they do best: playing good team defense and allowing no space in the neutral zone. The Rangers, who were 30-11-0 at home in the regular season, will take a 2-0 series lead and force the Hurricanes into a must-win Game 3 in Carolina on Thursday.

Nathan MacKinnon OVER 4.5 shots on goal at Stars (-120, BetMGM)

BetMGM offer:

Brandon Velaski — As always, this is an auto bet, and that will be the case for every game of the Colorado-Dallas series. MacKinnon hit this number in two of the Avalanche’s last three games, in three of the teams’ four regular-season matchups and even in four of the seven of the contests when the Avs and Stars met in the 2020 playoffs. Also, in 82 career postseason games, MacKinnon is averaging 4.7 shots. That’s higher than 4.5, so I’m all in.

NHL postseason record: 4-10, -6.95 units
