Welcome aboard the Caitlin Clark Futures Ride, ladies and gentlemen. Please keep your arms and legs safely inside the vehicle at all times as I take the reins as your humble ride operator for this exhilarating journey into the world of WNBA futures betting.

Given the unprecedented buzz surrounding Clark’s debut season with the Indiana Fever, many of the futures bets involving the 2024 WNBA No. 1 overall pick seem either overpriced or insufficiently enticing. Have no fear. We’ll navigate the perilous sportsbook landscape and emerge the other side with our pockets a little heavier.

The WNBA regular season begins Tuesday, May 14, when Clark and the Fever will be on the road to face the Connecticut Sun.

Caitlin Clark to record 1+ made three in every 2024 WNBA regular-season game; must play 28+ regular-season games (+340, FanDuel)

FanDuel offers:

Everyone and their grandmother knows Clark loves taking three-pointers. At Iowa, she shot 37.7% on threes in her four-year career, and in her senior season, she averaged 13.6 attempts from beyond the arc. That’s a lot of threes. (By comparison, Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale, the league leader in three attempts last year with 341, averaged 8.5 per game.)

In 2023, the Fever shot the third-fewest threes per game (19.8), so it’s safe to say they’ll be relying on Clark to significantly increase their number of attempts from distance. Also, fans will be paying high-ticket prices to see her entertain with the long ball. She is going to give the people what they want!

Asking her to hit JUST ONE three-pointer every game? At +340? I’m diving into this bet like I’m Scrooge McDuck.

Caitlin Clark season assist average OVER 6.3 per game (-110, DraftKings)

DraftKings offer:

Look, I know I just hyped up Clark’s three-point shooting. And I still think she’s hitting at least one three a game. But there will likely be games where the WNBA’s finest defenses go after her with double- or triple-teams. So let’s use that to our advantage.

We’re betting on an Assist Extravaganza. A Passing Party, if you will (patent pending). Clark averaged 8.9 assists her senior year and showed the basketball world that she’s more than a willing passer. She’s an artist in setting up teammates for buckets.

If opposing defenses load up to stop Clark from scoring, she can rely on her passing instincts to impact games. And she won’t be passing to unwilling scorers, either. Led by guard Kelsey Mitchell (team-best 18.2 points per game) and Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston (14.5), the Fever were a top-five team in offensive rating last season.

So with Indiana’s more than capable offensive ability and Clark’s elite passing skills, the Fever’s new star point guard should rack up the assists and average over this number for the season.
