PICKS OF THE NIGHT
- Vancouver Canucks at Winnipeg Jets, 8 p.m. ET
- Edmonton Oilers at Colorado Avalanche, 9:30 p.m. ET
- Anaheim Ducks at Vegas Golden Knights, 10 p.m. ET
- Chicago Blackhawks at Los Angeles Kings, 10:30 p.m. ET
Golden Knights UNDER 3.5 goals vs. Ducks (+115, BetMGM)
Brandon Velaski — Vegas has been under this total in three of its last five games. And let’s face it: The Golden Knights don’t need to score much to beat Anaheim. They need a victory to set up a matchup with Edmonton in the first round of the playoffs, and they can get away with a 3-1 score like they did two nights ago against Chicago.
SGP: Kings ML vs. Blackhawks, Anze Kopitar anytime goal (+230, BetMGM)
Lou Saccomando — The Kings destroyed the Blackhawks in the first two games of the season series, winning 5-0 in Chicago and 6-2 in Los Angeles, and Kopitar scored two goals in each of the blowouts. The Blackhawks have lost five straight games, and the Kings have a chance to finish third in the Pacific Division. I expect to see more dominance from L.A., early and often, considering it has something to play for and Chicago does not.
Canucks at Jets UNDER 5.5 goals (-105, BetMGM)
Brandon Velaski — Neither team has much to play for. Vancouver is locked into a first-round matchup with Nashville, and Winnipeg will face Colorado in the playoffs. I expect the bottom-six forwards to see plenty of ice time in a low-scoring affair due to several healthy scratches.
Connor McDavid OVER 3.5 shots on goal at Avalanche (+115, BetMGM)
Lou Saccomando — I know McDavid hasn’t hit this over in his last three games, but normally this is a lock. He has exceeded the necessary total in both games against Colorado this season, including nine shots on goal on April 5. Anything this low for plus money with McDavid is usually rare and free money, and I’m hoping to cash in again with the Hart Trophy candidate.
Season record: 19-32, -12.60 units
