Caitlin Clark vs. South Carolina: Best prop bet for Iowa superstar

Multiple times each week, The Gaming Juice’s resident action seeker, Brad Evans, will attempt to blast the ‘books with his favorite selections on sides, totals, props, teasers or parlays. As always, fade or follow Brad’s picks — fading is encouraged — but that’s up to you.

The pick — Caitlin Clark UNDER 32.5 points vs. South Carolina (-110, DraftKings)

DraftKings offers:

It’s safe to say that Jake from State Farm doesn’t miss an opportunity to curl weights or really anything of poundage. Defy the swole salesman in any way and a strong insurance pitch, while your head is pinched in a headlock, is bound to occur.

Well, fellow connoisseur of khakis, this naysayer is ready to endure the pain and slap the wallet on an exorbitant whole life plan, if necessary.

You read that correctly. This betting imbecile is fading the Michael Jordan of our generation, Caitlin Clark, in only the biggest game of her records-smashing career.

Talk about “flexing” untoned arms at a gunfight.

South Carolina is the favorite in Sunday’s national championship game for a reason. A perfect 31-0 on the season, Dawn Staley’s squad ranks No. 1 nationally in defensive rating, surrendering 34.6% shooting from two and only 26.9% from three.

Clark is known for her ridiculous logo threes, but the Gamecocks’ length is incredibly disruptive. If they extend, challenge and force the Iowa superstar to go to her right, occasional misfires are sure to mount.

Clark’s 41 points against South Carolina in last year’s Final Four is indisputable REVENGE GAME motivation. That influential narrative and the Gamecocks’ defensive prowess suggest the above prop is a little rich. Recall that Clark, against UConn’s stout D, was uncharacteristically out of rhythm over a long stretch of the Hawkeyes’ 71-69 victory and finished with 21 points on 38.9% shooting (27.3% from three). Yes, she’s actually human.

Hey, yoked insurance guy: Bring the noise. For the fifth time in six NCAA Tournament games this year, Clark, on the biggest basketball stage known to man/woman, will fall just shy of 33 points.

And it’s fine if she makes me look silly, which is entirely likely. My mind and body are prepared to make the insurance switch. Apologies in advance, Gronk and USAA.
