Discarded wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, boxes and bags -- the living room post-Christmas aftermath resembles a tush-push pile up. Handing out one more present, Brad Evans gifts readers a three-game parlay play to add some spice to the NetFlix holiday slate. Have a cup of cheer!
CeeDee Lamb 70+ receiving yards at Commanders - Ho-Ho-Horrible defensively, the Commanders play with the imbalance of an eggnog drunk Uncle in a backyard family football game. No matter how one slices it, Washington ranks dead last in several defensive categories -- including dropback EPA. To quote the grumpy elf boss from Rudolph, “the TENOR SECTION IS WEAK!” -- constantly. This season, Dan Quinn’s unfit unit has surrendered a startling 8.26 pass yards per attempt and the ninth-most WR yards. In total, nine wideouts have crossed the 70-yard mark against them. Lamb hung 110 yards on the division rivals in Week 7. Likely to again draw Mike Sainristil in coverage -- the DB has given up the fifth-most yards of any NFL pass defender and a 113.1 passer rating -- Lamb tallies 70 yards for the 10th time in 12 games
Aaron Jones 15+ receiving yards vs. Lions - Featuring a Viking in this parlay play may seem like pulling a DK Metcalf by taking a swap at an obnoxious fan and surrendering $45 million in future guarantees in the process, but look closer. Yes, JJ McCarthy is unlikely to play but even if total misadventure Max Brosmer is again under center, it’s a positive for the sticky-fingered veteran. In their first matchup on the field together -- Week 13 in Seattle -- Jones caught all four of the rookie QB's targets. With the green youngster expected to be placed under steady duress by Aiden Hutchinson and a Lions front ranked inside the league's top half in pocket pressure rate (22.0%), dump-offs to his safety valve are inevitable. This season Detroit has given up 25.2 receiving yards per game to RBs -- including 20 yards tallied by Jones in Week 9. Throw in Jordan Mason’s absence and the odds of this leg not buckling substantially increase.
RJ Harvey 12+ rush attempts at Chiefs - As the thermometer mercury has dipped, the rookie’s ground touches have spiked. Midseason, Sean Payton openly admitted he wanted to feed Harvey. Suffice it to say, the head coach has delivered on that promise. Since Week 11, the rising rusher has earned a majority of the opportunity share over the stretch, receiving at least a dozen ground attempts in three of his last four games. On the field, the Chiefs are as checked out as ownership is off of it (Kansas? Domed stadium? $1 billion+ in public funds? Really?). The playoff eliminated bunch are down to third-stringer Chris Oladokun at QB. Yes, they’re a very respectable No. 3 in rush EPA defense since Week 10, but they’re 12.5-point home underdogs for a reason. In what should be a positive game script and with No. 1 seed aspirations on the line, Harvey racks the rushes. Keep in mind since Week 12, seven RBs have totaled a dozen or more ground touches against KC. Spoonfuls, Payton. Spoonfuls.
