Much like the current Seahawks slinger, Williams’ developmental journey took approximately a full epoch — at least in football years.
When drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2021, this horrendous talent evaluator believed the former North Carolina standout would be a rookie sensation straight away. That notion was a wee bit premature. Yep, the story of this scribe’s life.
His best season in the Mike High City was his first. That year he finished a mundane RB22 in fantasy points per game.
Written off by many fantasy drafters ahead of his first campaign in Dallas, he slipped well into the middle rounds. Those who grabbed him largely expressed reluctance. However, those feelings have long expired.
Consistent and reliable, “Juggernaut” Javonte has finally arrived. On the year, he’s top-five in YAC per attempt (3.67) and missed tackles forced (48), netting 76.8% of the opportunity share. Equally impressive, he’s totaled 53 red-zone attempts, scoring in nine of 14 games. Stellar.
The Vikings sank their postseason ship weeks ago. Though decent on the backend defensively, they’ve gotten pummeled in the trenches. This season, they’re No. 20 rush EPA D, conceding 105.4 rush yards per game and 10 touchdowns to RBs.
With a 10% chance to punch a postseason ticket, the ‘Boys still own a faint playoff pulse. Every remaining game is a must win.
