Season-long player props are beginning to surface across sportsbooks. In an attempt to seek out values, Brad Evans will occasionally make the case on an attractive future — whether betting the OVER or UNDER — as the outside temps rise.

Today’s topic: Cardi B’s boo.

The pick — Stefon Diggs OVER 700.5 receiving yards (-110, BetMGM)

Can you Diggs it?

Maybe Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel can’t.

After a video of Cardi B’s canoodler hanging out on a boat with three random women and a bag packed with an unknown pink party favor went viral on social media last week — call it a PG-rated version of what happened on Lake Minnetonka circa 2005 — questions were appropriately raised about the $63 million man’s level of commitment. Team insiders, citing other suspect occurrences involving the wide receiver, even suggested the Patriots organization outright cutting him was entirely “on the table.”

Diggs, however, showed up to voluntary OTAs this week. Rocky waters have calmed … for now.

The bigger uncertainty surrounding the 10-year NFL veteran has nothing to do with whatever debatable off-the-field decisions he makes, but what his on-the-field recovery from an ACL tear suffered in Week 8 last season looks like. Though he moved fluidly in offseason workouts on Monday, it remains possible he begins training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list.

Still, whether he plays a full season or just short of one, the above threshold on Drake Maye’s presumed WR1 is rather low. Diggs’ days of 1,200 receiving yards or more may be long in the past, but he’s not exactly petrified wood at 31 years old.

As his 10.6 yards per reception in 2024 with Houston suggests, Diggs is more of an underneath weapon at this juncture of his career. His WR8 finish in route win percentage last season clearly shows his route running, sharp cuts and general separation skills haven’t fallen off a cliff. The man can still be a catch accumulator.

ESPN’s Mike Clay forecasts Diggs for a 100-70-768-3 line in just 13 games. Though he owns THE hardest fantasy strength of schedule for a wide receiver, his yardage prospects are elevated by the presumed reliance on him and Maye’s above average accuracy (No. 14 in true completion percentage in ‘24). With a WR48 (133.93 overall) price tag in fantasy, Diggs packs ample upside for a bench investment.

Cue “WAP” in the background. Diggs is sure to deliver at least some excitement this gaming season.

And give this riverboat gambler the OVER.
