The pugnacious Bulldogs snacked on Gator last Tuesday.

In a season-swaying 88-83 victory over No. 3 Florida, Georgia swapped bricks for blowtorches. It entered the matchup north of No. 300 in effective field goal percentage offense and proceeded to set the Gators defense ablaze with buckets from all points.

Credit to Todd Golden's guys. Buried by as many as 23 points early on, Florida chipped away and regained the lead briefly only to have its ferocious comeback thwarted by a clutch Blue Cain 3-pointer.

Undoubtedly, the victory was incredibly valuable. UGA vaulted from the backside of the bubble to the very last team OUT on the Bracket Big Board.

With three pivotal contests remaining — starting with Saturday’s trip to Austin against fellow Bubbleville resident Texas in a likely elimination game — Mike White’s Bulldogs must emerge unscathed at least twice. Add one more win in the SEC Tournament, and the at-large padlock snaps into place.

Unfortunately for Georgia, its No. 232 non-conference strength of schedule and 1-7 road record are significant profile drags. Betting on the Bulldogs pooping the crate on the road against Texas and then South Carolina seems wise — especially at plus money.

Brad’s pick — Georgia to MISS the NCAA Tournament (+108, FanDuel)
